5 Reasons to Choose Lessons With Me
1. over 3 decades of Experience & A Unique Teaching Method
I’ve been teaching since I was 16. In lessons, I often play a different instrument (like drums while you play guitar) so you learn real musical interaction from day one. Online students get custom backing tracks to create the same experience.
2. Multi-Instrumentalist (11 Instruments)
Want to sing and play? Learn guitar and piano? I teach multiple instruments and show you how they connect — no need for separate teachers or double the cost.
3. In-Home Lessons = Convenience & Comfort
I come to you (Pasadena area). No traffic, no waiting rooms, no distractions. Students learn in a comfortable environment and gain confidence playing in front of family and friends.
4. Flexible & Fair Policies
No long-term contracts. Pay lesson-to-lesson your first month. After that, simple monthly billing. 24-hour cancellation policy and no hidden commitments.
5. Deep Musical Background
I’ve studied music my entire life, taught in schools and colleges, attended Musicians Institute, and continue studying with musicians around the world. I’m always learning — so you get better lessons.

Education
1998-2001
Fortuna High Music Department
During my junior and senior years at Fortuna High School, I served as the music department’s teacher’s assistant and taught multiple classes. I was enrolled in four periods of music each day, fully immersing myself in a program known for its exceptional music department.
It was during this time that I began my teaching career — giving private lessons to fellow high school students and younger students throughout the Fortuna area in Humboldt County. What started in high school quickly grew into my lifelong profession.
2001-2002
College Of The Redwoods
After high school, I attended College of the Redwoods, where I immersed myself in the music program and completed the entire curriculum in just one year, placing into and finishing the highest-level guitar and music courses offered.
I also served as a teacher’s assistant in the guitar program, continuing to develop my teaching skills while studying. During this time, I earned multiple scholarships. I approached the program strategically — refining my craft and saving money in preparation for attending Musicians Institute.
2002-2004
Musicians Institute
At Musicians Institute, I placed into Level 3 — the highest level offered — in every category. Because of that placement, I technically only needed to attend for six months. Instead, I chose to reinforce everything I had already learned in high school and college and complete the full 18-month program, retaking certain classes to reinforce and deepen my understanding.
